The YSL SC5 is a cost effective supercontinuum source, providing a broadband single-mode output covering the entire 470 nm to 2400 nm range. The system is an ideal solution for fiber component characterization, material absorption spectroscopy, fiber sensing, OCT and other areas. The inherently robust all-fiber design provides unsurpassed performance combined with ease of use and maintenance-free operation.
Recently, YSL SC5 has been featured in a research article (Scientific Reports 8, 10377 (2018)) by Chen et al from the University of South Australia. YSL SC5 was used to characterize the wavelength dependency of the waveguide insertion loss of the glass chips in Chen’s work. The reliable performance of the YSL SC5 enabled rapid characterization with good reproducibility. With the supercontinnum data, an optimum wavelength was found at 1155 nm for low-loss light propagation, which can be used for integrated Raman lasers.
